Steampunk desk lamp!  Made in Berlin, no less.                                                                              July 1, 2007
In honor of Canada Day: "Holy.  Wicked, eh?"  This would so-much match my desktop setup.  Very
"Bladerunner" or "Dune."  Mouse- over for another shot, click on through for the artist's website.

Harder Better Faster Stronger!                                                                                                             July 3, 2007
And if you're wondering where you've seen this girl before, she's
the little girl from the 1984 "Art of Noise" music video (below).
No, not really.  But it's more fun to imagine that she is.  :-p

I found Sting's labyrinth with Google Earth!  It's located on his 400- acre, £7 million Lake House estate in
Wiltshire, England (about 6 miles north of
Salisbury and just one mile southeast of Stonehenge).  Exact
coordinates are noted above
.  As a tax exile, he's not here more than six months a year.  Then again
(mouseover the above pic), his security most definitely is.
Fancy a cup of tea?  How about 74,802 cups?                                                                                   July 9, 2007
This is how much tea the average Brit drinks in a lifetime.

A new Tiki Bar!                                                                                                                                         July 10, 2007
Awesome, that's three new episodes in as many months.  It's another inexplicably funny, "WTF?"
episode.  Click on through the above pic to watch Episode #27: "Dingo" -
with dancing!
Finally found it at Walgreens.                                                                                                               July 11, 2007
The limited-edition Elvis Peanut Butter & Banana Creme Reese's is finally out.  I got the "Big Cup"
version with the "Hawaiian Elvis"; it reads "The King Size" on the label (see below).  The banana flavor is
tasty but the "Big Cup" version is really thick.  Overall, it's too sugary sweet.  Mouseover the above pic to
see a real fried peanut butter-and-banana sandwich.  Click through for a foodie's recipe.  Mouseover
below to see the "Las Vegas" Elvis version.
$2 million steampunk bar and lounge.                         July 13, 2007
Located in a downtown LA basement, "The Edison" bar has a definite Riven and Myst look to it.  It was a
former (private) power plant and some of the original machinery were left in place.  I don't drink but if you
do, why not drink in cool surroundings?  People complain about the $10+ average for a drink.  Is that
high?  I don't know.  Mouseover the pics for more views.  Click on through for larger images from the
photographer.

Flames that burn in different colors.                                                                                                 July 15, 2007
Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?  Is this new?  Is it toxic?

So I was shuffling through my music when...                                                                                  July 18, 2007
..."I Go Crazy" by Paul Davis started playing.  (This is the same guy who also wrote the 80's hits "Cool
Night" and "65 Love Affair."
)  But what came to mind when this album art popped up in Cover Flow was:
DJ Lobsterdust is very good.                                                                                                               July 19, 2007
I nearly did a spit-take when the Toni Basil cheerleaders appeared in the Unk & Avril Lavigne video
mash-up (above).  His audio mash-up of Fergie & The Fray actually makes "Glamorous" a good listen.
The Bubba Sparxxx/Ying Yang Twins & David Bowie/Queen mix is this decade's "Baby Got Back."  The
Rolling Stones, CCR, The Who, Blondie, Elton John, Prince - it's all
on his site and all available as free
downloadable MP3s.
And since we're listening to Unk (sort of), here's dancer Gwen Verdon (former Mrs. Bob Fosse) on
"The Ed Sullivan Show" back in 1966 - dancing to Unk's "Walk It Out."  I know my sister Hazel's
laughing - this is her kind of humor.

Like a twisted Hardee's-Monster-Burger-version of the six-foot sub. The (off-menu) In-N-Out "100x100"
has two buns, 100 patties and 100 slices of cheese.  Damage: more than
19,400 calories.  Click on
through the above pic for the horrifyingly gross story.  Supersize it with a Diet Coke, small fries and
defibrillator.
